About Us
What To Expect in a Lutheran Orthodox Church:
First and foremost, we are a Lutheran denomination in the Evangelical Catholic tradition and as such, we have decided to return to a more formal worship setting. Our services are very liturgical in setting, with pastors wearing formal vestments on most occasions. You may also notice that the churches are very ‘Catholic’ in appearance, with the main focus being the altar, as opposed to the pulpit.
While each church is independant and remains the property of their respective congregations, we share many of the same styles of worship and music. An Orthodox Lutheran service consists of hymns, a liturgy which is easy to follow, even for a first time visitor, a short sermon or homily, and the celebration of the Eucharist, or Holy Communion.
We believe in the presence of Christ in the elements and we do allow everyone who is baptized and believes to participate in the Lords Supper.
