From The Bible
John 14:1-7 NIV) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God ; trust also in me. {2} In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. {3} And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. {4} You know the way to the place where I am going.” {5} Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” {6} Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. {7} If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
We spend a great deal of time, effort, and money in life trying to find inner peace and comfort but it comes to us when we quit trying to find it and accept it from God. In this passage from the Gospel of John we see Jesus telling his disciples the simple advice ‘Trust in God.’ Trust is defined “confidence in and reliance on” and perfectly defines our ideal relationship with God.
We can have complete confidence in God. He makes no promises that will not be kept. Jesus being true God as well as true man would not, could not miss lead us. When he said ‘I am going there to prepare a place for you’ he meant exactly that. When we arrive in Heaven, Jesus will have the perfect place for us to live with him for all eternity.
When Thomas questioned how we can go to Heaven, Jesus once again gave a straight answer that we can still count on today. Jesus is the way to eternal life, he is the one and only way to Heaven, and he is the way we can know God. Put your faith in God. Put your faith in Jesus. When you have done this your heart need not be troubled because you have a room waiting for you in God’s house.
September Perspective
The world has declared war on the Christian Church. This is not new news it has happened many time in the 2000 year history of Christianity. One of the main reasons this nation was colonized was the fact that people were looking for a place they could worship God without interference from the Government. For a long time this nation was a Christian nation that believed all people should be free to worship their God (Christian or not) anyway that they desired. People of all faiths came to this Christian nation knowing there would be no state demanding a certain religion be followed. It was always understood that non Christian faiths were welcome to be free within a country that was dedicated to Christ.
For 150 years after winning our independence this country was proud of our Christian roots and tolerance. Churches would encourage people to come to faith while not forcing anyone to change their belief in any god or no god. It seemed as if the world finally had the perfect arrangement. A country where the government would protect the freedom to practice religion without interfering with religion. The battle to remove America from Christ started subtle enough. First remove God from the schools, after all public schools should not promote God. Next step remove even private prayer from schools, then remove God from all public events.
Soon it wasn’t a matter of being God neutral it became necessary to be God deniers. Now we have got to the point where people mock believers. Politicians that believe are afraid to proclaim their faith because it is harder to become elected.
When remembering the tenth anniversary of the worst attack on America since WWII the decision is made not to have any recognition of faith or God in the New York ceremony. The Ten Commandments have been removed from courtrooms, a teacher was fired for bowing his head while supervising a Christian group at the school. A court ordered the words under God to be removed from the pledge and our president traveled to a Muslim country to proclaim that America is not a Christian nation.
A look at the direction our country has been going you would think the future is bleak for the Christian Church but I would say the opposite. I would tell the Christian Church to stand by for one of the strongest revivals in Christian history. The church has been declared dead before and just as it proved to be wrong before it will be proven wrong again. Not only is the church not dead it is not even on life support. Christianity is alive healthy an on the verge of a great explosion of growth.
Jesus made a promise (Matthew 16:18 NIV) “—–– I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” I put a lot of stock on this promise and I believe with all my heart that God will bless His church with the ability to overcome persecution and win the war.
To the world I say EITHER JOIN US OR GET OUT OF THE WAY GOD’S TRAIN IS COMING THROUGH!!!
